I’m Kevin Werbach, Chair of the Department of Legal Studies and Business Ethics at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. I’ve been writing and teaching about emerging technologies for 30 years, with a focus on the complex intersections of law, business, and policy.
Artificial Intelligence could generate immense economic and societal benefits…but it also has serious risks and limitations that must be addressed. Accountable AI means implementing technical, operational, and legal mechanisms to ensure that AI is appropriately governed, and to promote responsible, safe, and trustworthy uses.
